2024 WCCU Board of Directors Election Now Open
Voting is open April 1 – April 30th, 2024. Election results will be announced at WCCU’s Annual Meeting at the Vernon County Fairgrounds – Vernon Memorial Healthcare Building in Viroqua on Tuesday, May 21st, 2024 at 5:30 p.m.
WCCU Directors have duties and responsibilities set forth in the bylaws and Board policies. In addition they must understand and demonstrate a commitment to WCCU products and services, keep current with issues affecting credit union movement, attend monthly board meetings and annual meeting, participate in committees, prepare for and be an active participate in meetings, mentor new board members, maintain confidentiality and foster a positive working relationship with our Board members.
Two candidates will be elected to each serve a three year term (see candidate list and bios below).
Only the primary member (the first person named on the account) is eligible to vote (one vote per member); a member must be 18 years of age or older to vote; and, an eligible voter must have been a member of Westby Co-op Credit Union (WCCU) for at least three months.

2024 Candidates
Reminder: There are four (4) candidates running for two (2) open positions. Please vote for no more than two (2) candidates. Two candidates will be elected to each serve a three-year term. Ballots must be received by April 30th, 2024. Ballots received after April 30th will not be counted. The results will be announced at the Annual Meeting on Tuesday, May 21, 2024, at the Viroqua Vernon County Fairgrounds – Vernon Memorial Healthcare Building. The Annual meeting will begin at 5:30 p.m. (Note new time). Call any WCCU office to RSVP for the Annual Meeting.
Steven Davis
Steven Davis was born and raised in Milwaukee. After high school, he relocated to Richland Center and worked in the industrial pattern making business for Richland Enterprises. In 1980, he became the Manager of Richland Patterns. Steve volunteered as an EMT for 7 years, served as a member and President on the Star-Spangled Celebration Board, and is a past member and President of the Community Auditorium Board. He has been a member of The Keith D. Chamberlain Masonic Lodge in Richland Center for 25 years. Steve was a High School football official for more than 25 years and served as the Southwest Wisconsin Conference Commissioner for 6 years. In 2021 he built his retirement home and custom woodworking shop near Wisconsin Dells. He currently balances his custom woodworking business with working a few days a week at Richland Patterns. As a hobby, he is currently the manager of the local band “High Mileage”. Steven is a long-time member of WCCU. “I believe in the WCCU vision and feel honored to be considered as a board member. WCCU has come so far in its history. I love to kid the folks at WCCU about having a 4-digit customer number!” Steve and his wife, Yvonne have 3 children and 7 grandchildren.
JoAnne Humfeld
(Elected Incumbent)
JoAnne grew up on a dairy farm in rural Chaseburg. She graduated from Westby High School and then from Western Wisconsin Technical College with a Finance Degree. She worked at Gateway Foods and Teachers Credit Union (now Marine Credit Union) before she and her husband, Steve, purchased their own dairy farm and raised their two sons, Nick and Phillip. They were dairy farmers for 30 years, until a barn fire in 2013 forced them to switch to raising beef and crop farming. In 2011 they hosted the Vernon County Dairy Breakfast. JoAnne was a general leader of the Enterprise Eagles 4-H, Middle Coon Valley WELCA Church President, and Sunday School teacher. She currently serves as the Secretary/Treasurer of the Vernon County Farmers Union.
Julie McLimans
Originally from Plain, Wisconsin, Julie graduated from River Valley High School and received an Associate Degree in Finance from MATC. She has had a lifelong career in the accounting and financial industry. She retired from WEA Insurance but continues to work there part-time. Julie actively supports several local organizations and events: Camp Hope, 6:8, Culver Community Park, St Vincent de Paul, Sauk Prairie Food Pantry, Community Center Programs as well as School Sports and Music Programs. Previously, Julie has served two terms on the Finance Council for St Luke’s Church in Plain. She and her husband Jerry have lived in Sauk Prairie for over 30 years. She is an avid Badgers and Packers fan who enjoys traveling, yard work (tending to her many flower gardens), playing cards and reading with her many nieces and nephews.
Christine M. Sloat
(Elected Incumbent)
Christine has been a practicing civil engineer for over 45 years and a business owner (Copper Creek Companies, Inc. in Reedsburg) for 27 years. She retired in January of 2023 but remains involved in both the engineering and business communities. Her professional expertise includes engineering, project and risk management, business management, public speaking, and copyright services for the technical professions. Christine held various positions and served on numerous committees for local governments, groups, and organizations including a seat on the Sauk County Board of Supervisors and the City of Reedsburg Personnel Committee. She has been a leader in numerous professional organizations at both the state and national levels. She lives in Reedsburg and has two grown children and one grandchild. Her husband of 46 years passed away in 2021. Christine Sloat has served as a WCCU Director since 2015. “It is truly an honor to serve on the WCCU Board of Directors and it has been an amazing experience to be a part of the Credit Union’s phenomenal growth. Our employees work diligently, every day, to provide the best services. Their community involvement is second to none. These dedicated employees are responsible for our success. I have learned much during my tenure and know that there is so much more to learn and do. I would be so proud to continue in my position and provide any expertise that I can toward WCCU’s continued success.”
